Third Judicial District Administrative District Judge Thomas J. Ryan announced today the selection of F. Randall Kline of American Falls, Idaho as a Magistrate Judge for Canyon County to fill the vacancy created by the appointment of the Honorable George Southworth to the district court bench. Mr. Kline was selected from an original field of twenty (20) applicants and five (5) finalists who were interviewed at a meeting of the Third District Magistrates Commission in Caldwell, Idaho on March 26, 2013.
Mr. Kline received his undergraduate degree from Idaho State University and his law degree from the University of Idaho College of Law. Mr. Kline brings with him a wealth of varied law practice experience. He was in general practice with Ward, Maguire Bybee and Kline in Pocatello, Idaho from 1982 to 1988, and opened his own general law practice there in 1988. While in his general law practice, Mr. Kline also was the City Attorney for the Cities of American Falls and Rockland. Mr. Kline was appointed as the Power County Prosecuting Attorney in June, 2008 and elected to the position in November, 2008. He served as the Power County Prosecuting Attorney until January, 2013.
Mr. Kline will be relocating to Canyon County and will begin his judicial duties not later than May 1, 2013 at the Caldwell Section of the Canyon County Magistrates Division.
