Third Judicial District Administrative District Judge Thomas J. Ryan announced today the selection of Robert L. Jackson of Parma, Idaho as a Magistrate Judge for Payette County to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge A. Lynne Krogh.† Mr. Jackson was selected from an original field of ten (10) applicants and three (3) finalists who were interviewed at a meeting of the Third District Magistrates Commission in Payette, Idaho on June 14, 2013.
Mr. Jackson pursued undergraduate courses at California Polytechnic University and received an undergraduate degree from Idaho State University.† He received his law degree from the University of Idaho.† Mr. Jackson brings to the bench over twenty (20) years of varied legal experience in the private sector.† He began his legal career in 1982 with the Caviness and Beebe law firm in American Falls, Idaho where he served as a deputy prosecuting attorney and also participated in a general law practice.† From 1984 to 1987, Mr. Jackson was the managing attorney for the Goichoechea Law Office in Pocatello, Idaho.† Beginning in 1987 and until 1992, Mr. Jackson served as an attorney and partner in the Lynn, Scott, Hackney and Jackson law firm in Boise, Idaho where he was engaged in a general law practice with a concentration in criminal defense work.† Mr. Jackson started his own general law practice in Nampa, Idaho in 1992 where he remained until joining the Pedersen & Jackson law firm in Twin Falls as a litigation attorney in 2000.† Mr. Jackson left his Twin Falls practice in 2008 to join the Lister and Frost law office in Boise, Idaho as that firmís attorney in charge of the litigation division.† In 2010, Mr. Jackson became a contract litigation attorney for the Saetrum Law Office in Boise after establishing his own general practice in Parma, Idaho in 2009.
