Whereas it has come to this Court's attention that the present VERA Point Scale Release System being utilized by the Canyon County Pre-Trial Release Division makes no provision to consider that a defendant has been charged with violating a protection order and
Whereas the violation of a protection order is considered by the Court and the local judiciary to be a serious matter and worthy of consideration in the process of determining whether or not a defendant should be admitted to a recognizance release,
It is hereby ordered that the VERA Point Scale Release System being used by the Canyon County Pre-Trial Release Division is amended to provide for the subtraction of 2 points from the VERA point score for any defendant charged with the violation of a protection order.
It is further ordered that all other provisions of this Court's Administrative Order 89-2 shall remain in full force and effect.
